Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.      -1 Corinthians 13:4-8

About the Planner

Hi There!  My name is Tessa.

I'm the owner of Windsor Events, LLC.  If you want to learn more keep reading!

People always ask business owners, “What is your why?”  They are usually searching for one succinct sentence that captures one basic concept.  Through starting my business, I found that my answer never seemed to be accepted.  I would be told one day that my why was too personal and the next day that it wasn’t personal enough.  What this all boils down to is there are often multiple reasons for doing something.  And I think that’s ok.  I think it is good.  It is good to have more than one driving factor.  So here are mine...

For Myself:  Doing something that uses my greatest talents to help people.

For My Family:  Creating a job that offers me flexibility to invest in my family.

For My Community:  Impacting culture by being a business owner who acts with integrity.

My Journey

I found my passion for event planning pretty unexpectedly.  During my first job out of college, I had the opportunity (much to my disgruntled acceptance at the time) to plan multiple community events.  As it turned out, I loved every minute of it!

I love the ENERGY that accumulates during an event.  A singer lives for being on stage.  A football player lives for the stadium lights.  This is the same feeling I get the day of an event.  I wish I could bottle it and add it to my essential oil collection haha!

My Education

I got my bachelor's from Cedarville University (go jackets!).  My degree is actually in mechanical engineering.  I know what you're thinking...talk about a 180!  The truth is, a lot of my passion for planning and design comes from this background.  Although, the technical aspects are different, most of the skills are the same.  Engineering is all about being CREATIVE; while at the same time being able to organize and communicate clearly.  Both careers involve problem solving, risk calculation, and unpredictable changes.  Event planning is the perfect combination of creativity and analytics that I absolutely love!

Fun Facts

  • I have always been a creative at heart.  My hobbies include anything artsy.  I love painting, drawing, and dancing at any opportunity.

  • If you haven't guessed yet, I LOVE organizing things!  It probably makes me a nerd, but one of my favorite activities is reorganizing a closet or drawer.  It makes my heart calm and happy.  So, if you have a messy desk let's talk!

  • I start everyday (well...every day that isn't really really hot outside!) with peppermint tea.

  • I grew up in Indiana, but now live in Ohio with my wonderful husband and our Siberian Husky, Nikka.

  • My first job out of college was as a full-time missionary, running logistics for a summer camp in Juneau, Alaska.

  • I am a Christ follower, and I seek to glorify God in all that I do, though I fail at this daily.  I am so gratefully desperate for the mercy and grace I have received.  I know this sounds strange to some people, so if you are curious or confused, I'd love to answer any questions; judgement and string free!

  • I love coffee, but I can't have any significant amount of caffeine.  I always order decaf, and this usually makes me feel like a poser. #fakecoffeelover

  • I have oddly jointed shoulders that result in my weird ability to lick my elbow.  So, if you ever need a circus entertainer for your event, I'm your girl...just kidding!
